Darcmatter Ceramics is the studio of Denise Aimee Rijnen, founded in Amsterdam in 2016 and now based in the Italian Alps. From her restored baita, Denise hand-throws each piece on the wheel, exploring contrasts between smooth, polished surfaces and raw, rock-like textures.

This piece is made on the pottery wheel using a beige clay that contains little pieces of rock with a high concentration of Iron, in the process of firing the iron melts and bleeds out of the clay and become visible into the satin matt glaze as speckles.

Due to a glaze firing up to 1260 degrees Celsius  this item has a high durability and withstands a dishwashing session with ease.

This piece is made on the pottery wheel using a black clay that contains a high concentration of manganese and Iron oxide, hence the deep black appearance of the clay. The black clay body plays in a beautiful way with the satin matt glaze, it gives different hue's from blue to brown

Due to a glaze firing up to 1260 degrees Celsius  this item has a high durability and withstands a dishwashing session with ease.
